Former Arsenal star’s verdict on incoming transfer and discusses ‘ridiculous’ Zaha bid
ARSENAL star Jeremie Aliadiere has revealed his verdict on Unai Emery’s bid to buy Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace, as well as his thoughts on incoming transfer William Saliba.
The deal, which will cost around £27m, has been welcomed by Aliadiere, as he knows the Gunners are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements.
But, he questioned Arsenal’s plan to immediately send the 18-year-old back to the Ligue 1 side, as the club need new defenders straight away.
Arsenal have also been linked with moves for defenders Kieran Tierney from Celtic, and Dortmund youngster Dan-Axel Zagadou.

“Defensively is where Arsenal need to strengthen the most and they’re pretty close to signing the French Under 20 international [William] Saliba,” said Aliadiere.
“But I have heard they’re going to sign him then loan him back to France for a season, so I’m a bit surprised by that; spending thirty million on a defender and giving him back straight away.
“I don’t understand that type of business. I’m not sure if right now we can afford to buy a player for the future.
“We need players to come in and improve the team right now because that’s where we struggled last year.”
