Solskjaer is desperate to land a top defender to plug his leaky defence, with Maguire topping his wishlist.
It’s also claimed United hero Sir Alex Ferguson is keen for his old side to land Maguire this summer.

As for Lukaku, the striker is said to be unhappy with his treatment under Solskjaer.
The Belgium star played second-fiddle to Marcus Rashford last season, with Solskjaer favouring the youngster.
Inter Milan are chasing Lukaku, with United demanding around £75m for the striker.
Inter and United held talks this week over a deal for Lukaku, however, both clubs are said to be far apart on their valuation of the 26-year-old.
