Chelsea: Lampard to be confirmed as manager soon says pundit
Chelsea uploaded a video of Calum Hudson-Odoi being put through his paces as the young winger steps up his recovery from the ruptured achilles injury.
And supporters saw that as an opportunity to get their point across to the board who are still yet confirm who will succeed Maurizio Sarri after he left for Juventus.
A whole host of them commented on the video with a simple message that read ‘announce Lampard’ while others were excited at the prospect of Hudson-Odoi starring in Lampard’s team.
“Can't wait for him to play under Lampard,” said one on Twitter.
Chelsea will have to pay around £4million in compensation to Derby and it is claimed he recently met with Blues owner Roman Abramovich to discuss the role while he was on holiday in the French Riviera.
Lampard is said to have impressed Abramovich during those talks and will become the 12th manager [not including caretakers Steve Holland and Ray Wilkins] since the Russian took over the club in 2003.

Lampard has a huge job on his hands as the club are facing a two-window transfer ban for breaking rules around signing young players.
He will also arrive alongside a host of players who are retuning from various loan spells and he will need to decide who he wast to keep and who to cut loose.
A number of young players will be pushing for more first-team action under Lampard, who showed a willingness to put faith in youth during his time at Derby.
Young striker Tammy Abraham, 21, says he hopes to finally make the breakthrough under Lampard having impressed at Aston Villa last term.

“This is the most important year for us. It is now or never,” he said. "There will never be a better time to play the youngsters.
“Of course the transfer ban is probably not what the club wanted but for us it is exciting, I am excited and I am sure the rest of the players are.
“Chelsea has always had a great academy. They have lacked playing them and taking them to the next level. You see the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek who on the borderline have done that.
“We have excellent players still there and coming through who are still Chelsea players so fingers crossed if it all goes well it changes the mindset.”
