Manchester United manager Solskjaer is determined to land Maguire this transfer window, a year after the Red Devils first explored a deal for the Leicester star.
The England international was wanted by Jose Mourinho 12 months ago, despite the club having Phil Jones, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo on the books at the time.
Manchester United refused to meet Leicester’s valuation of Maguire, however, leading to a nightmare Premier League season.
The Red Devils shipped a massive 54 Premier League goals to finish the campaign outside of the top four.
And now, a year on, Solskjaer is eager to make amends.
The United manager is aware his defence needs reinforcements this transfer window following the dire season.
Yet the Evening Standard say United have fears about their pursuit of Maguire this summer.
And it is claimed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James are the reasons why.
United reportedly fear that, due to the time they have spent chasing transfers for the duo, they now believe Maguire may end up at Manchester City instead.
