Arsenal: Aubameyang says 'it’s a pleasure to play' with Lacazette
Arsenal star Lacazette has been linked with a summer move to Barcelona when the transfer window reopens.
The France international has impressed under Unai Emery this season, scoring 19 goals from 48 matches across all competitions.
Arsenal are eager to challenge for major honours next season and Lacazette, given his importance to the side, is seen as a key figure over at the Emirates Stadium.
And the Daily Mail claim the north London giants are planning to open talks with the 27-year-old over a new contract.
It is said that Arsenal are reluctant to lose Lacazette to Barcelona and want to take measures to ensure they’re protected.
The Gunners have had to take some transfer hits in recent times.
Back in 2012, Robin van Persie moved to Manchester United when he had just a year left on his contract.
That meant Arsenal had to settle for a low transfer fee of £24million. Matters were made worse when the Dutchman fired his side to the Premier League title.
Emery’s side also saw Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leave for Liverpool in 2017 after he, too, had failed to agree a deal.
And Arsenal will lose captain Aaron Ramsey to Juventus this summer for free.

"I hope it is going to be great final and we will prepare for this."
Lacazette said Arsenal players were proud after their Europa League win, adding: "We’re really happy, really proud.
"We know in the Premier League we’ve played really badly in the last month so we knew it was a great opportunity to hope to go to the Champions League.
"But it is as well about a trophy. The club needs to win trophies and the players as well.
"We knew in this stadium it was going to be hard because there is a big atmosphere and they were gong to push us.
"We conceded the first goal but we showed character, we showed we can control the game even if we are 1-0 down."
