Leeds team news: Predicted 4-1-4-1 line up to face Brentford – Two dropped from Wigan loss
LEEDS manager Marcelo Bielsa may look to shuffle his squad against Brentford this evening (5.15pm) after a shock defeat to Wigan last time out.
Leeds suffered a nightmare 2-1 loss against 10-man Wigan on Friday, with the relegation-threatened Latics putting a huge dent in the Whites’ automatic promotion hopes.
Bielsa’s team dominated for much of the match at Elland Road, firing in 36 attempts but only scoring once through Patrick Bamford.
Leeds are now level on points with second-placed Sheffield United but trail on goal difference and sit five points behind table-topping Norwich.
Bielsa could be tempted to ring the changes with captain Liam Cooper still sidelined and his replacement Gaetano Berardi struggling last week.
Kalvin Phillips may drop into central defence with Adam Forshaw deployed in the holding role after coming on at half-time in the defeat to Wigan.
Jack Harrison also failed to impress last time out and may find himself dropping to the bench in favour of the recalled Kemar Roofe.
If so, Pablo Hernandez is likely to switch to the left flank with Roofe utilised in advance of Luke Ayling on the right.
Patrick Bamford should continue to lead the line, having scored 10 goals this season.
Barry Douglas is out for the season with a knee injury so Ezgjan Alioski is unchallenged in the left-back role.
Speaking after the loss to Wigan, Bielsa said: “Any explanation that I could give, would be meaningless.
“It is not a game that you can analyse, because you have games like this that you have to win. The result tells a lot about me and condemns seriously my work.
“You have no explanation that could justify a loss like this, it was a game we had to win and it was a game that we could win and we didn’t win it.”
