Championship table LATEST: How standings look as Leeds lose, Aston Villa and West Brom win
ALL Championship teams were in action on Friday but how does the table look with Leeds, Aston Villa and West Brom in the hunt for promotion?
Leeds are looking for a return to the Premier League after 15 years away but are increasingly looking like they'll have to do it the hard way.
The Whites went into Good Friday in second spot, four points behind leaders Norwich, though with a three-point gap over Sheffield United in third.
They suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against ten-men Wigan, only for Sheffield United to beat Wigan and Norwich to drop points.
Aston Villa and West Brom are in the chasing pack behind Leeds and Norwich, though it looks like the pair will have to settle for the play-offs.
Aston Villa travelled to Bolton and relegated them, while West Brom beat Hull 3-2.
Villa have now won their last nine league matches equalled a club record in the process.
Manager Dean Smith, though, was focusing more on the play-off race than that specific record pre-match.
He said: “The record wouldn’t mean an awful lot unless we get promoted.
Aston Villa: 'More to come' from the team says Dean Smith
“The ambitions here are to get promoted to the Premier League.
“We need to make sure we are in the play-offs first to give ourselves a chance of that.
“I would have great pride in equalling this kind of record but also know there is a longer term view involved.
“I would probably look back in time and think what a good record that was if we do it. But we have to go on and beat Bolton first.”
