Cristiano Ronaldo, of Juventus, limped out of Portugal’s showdown with Serbia at the start of the week.
The 34-year-old’s thigh injury is not severe, however, and he is expected to be fully fit and firing by the time the Old Lady meet Ajax in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final next month.
Ronaldo was expected to return to Juventus for medical tests after the international break.
But, in a shock twist, Italian outlet Calcio Mercato instead claim the Portugal international did NOT return to his club.

Ronaldo has since returned to Juventus.
And tests are expected to be carried out over the next week as the Old Lady aim to get their talisman fully fit and firing.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo was confident he would return from injury soon when quizzed on the matter last week.
"I'm not worried, because I know perfectly my body," the veteran said.
