Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta makes surprising Eden Hazard training revelation
CHELSEA captain Cesar Azpilicueta has revealed Eden Hazard enjoys playing in goal or in defence in training.
The Belgian is known for his attacking play and the damage it causes to opponents.
But Hazard enjoys trying his luck in goal or defence in training, according to Azpilicueta.
He told the club’s website: “In goal I don’t know, but what I will say is Eden, when we play small games, he likes to be a defender – a ball-playing defender!”
Hazard has been in top form again this season, netting 16 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
And that has led to more rumours that the 28-year-old will exit Stamford Bridge this summer for Real Madrid.
Zinedine Zidane is a known admirer of Hazard and is now back in charge at the Bernabeu.
Azpilicueta also revealed the funniest member of the squad is N’Golo Kante.
He explained: “I don’t know about joker but the funniest is N’Golo because he does things, he tells you something that he did at home or something he forgot, or when he arrived late.
Chelsea: Real Madrid will sign Eden Hazard claims Burley
“There are a couple of things when he tells you, you laugh with him because you don’t expect that he can do that kind of stuff.”
Chelsea will look to record an important win when the Premier League returns this weekend against Cardiff on Sunday.
The Blues are embroiled in a fight with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United for a place in the top four and Champions League qualification.
Maurizio Sarri is under pressure after a poor first season at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea currently sit sixth, three points behind Arsenal in fourth.
Azpilicueta also revealed if he had to take one team-mate to Antarctica for three days it would be Hazard.
He said: “I have been here with Eden for a long time, we are neighbours and we put our kids together, so I would take him as he is a very good friend of mine.”
