Liverpool are confident of keeping Sadio Mane - despite Real Madrid reportedly planning a transfer for the Senegal international.
Liverpool star Mane has emerged as a big Real Madrid transfer target for the summer, with Zinedine Zidane hoping to push through a deal for the Senegal international.
Liverpool were able to stop Real Madrid from signing Mane nearly a year ago but, now, a summer pursuit appears to be in the offing.
Los Blancos require firepower to help challenge Barcelona for honours next season, with the La Liga giants yet to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
And Mane, alongside PSG forward Neymar and Chelsea star Eden Hazard, is on their transfer wishlist.
The Liverpool Echo say, however, the Reds are confident of fending off their foreign suitors for the Senegal international.

14:25 UPDATE: Chelsea cash windfall
Chelsea are set for a cash windfall as Milan prepare to pay the £30m required to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko permanently.
Bakayoko - a £40m arrival at Stamford Bridge in 2017 - can make his loan move to Milan permanent in the summer.
Chelsea are under a transfer embargo for the next two windows but can still sell players, with Bakayoko tipped to leave.
But manager Maurizio Sarri may wish to bring the midfielder back to the club, now that he cannot sign a replacement.

10:55 UPDATE: Inter battle Real Madrid
Inter Milan are ready to battle Real Madrid in the chase to sign Exequiel Palacios.
Defender Palacios failed to get a move to Real Madrid in January, having impressed at River Plate.
He has a £13m release clause and now Inter are preparing for a bid, with PSG and Manchester City also supposedly interested.
Any deal for Palacios would likely come in the summer but - because the Argentine season runs through until the end of the year - Palacios may only move to Italy next January.
Ivan Rakitic will stay Barcelona past this season, with Ernesto Valverde guaranteeing it.
Rakitic has been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp once this campaign is up - with the 31-year-old seen by some as too old to warrant a place in the midfield.
But Valverde made sure Barca guaranteed he is not sold before the manager signed a contract extension himself last month.
AS report that Valverde os a big fan of Croatian Rakitic and has no intention of seeing him leave.

Liverpool are willing to ditch Naby Keita at a loss of £10m.
Team talk report that the Reds are open to letting winger Keita return to the Bundesliga, where he joined from RB Leipzig in a £52m deal last summer.
Keita has struggled to impress at Anfield this season and both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are said to have held talks over a deal for the playmaker.
And the Reds are supposedly ready to cut their losses.

But Juve may be able to sway the centre-back to move to Italy - especially with his former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo currently scoring for fun in Turin.

07:00 UPDATE: Man Utd warning over Maguire
Manchester United are interested in signing Harry Maguire but Leicester have warned it will take a record £90m to see him leave the King Power.
Virgil van Dijk is currently the world’s most expensive defender after leaving Southampton for Liverpool in a £75m deal in January 2018.
And United will have to smash that record to land England international Maguire, who is top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s defensive wish list.
The Daily Star report that United may go for an £80m bid but the Foxes will hope to raise the amount by a further £10m.
Michael Lustig says his future will be dealt with this week.
The Swede has spoken to AIK and told Express Sport: “Absolutely. They know well about my situation.
“We have not spoken on any contract, but then I don’t really know how the rules are.
“I’ve been quite open I might want to finish my career in Sweden.
“Clearly I’m thinking about it, but I have a lot to consider.”

06:30 UPDATE: Christensen Chelsea admission
Andreas Christensen has admitted it is “very difficult to accept” his current situation at Chelsea.
The Danish defender has barely played for the Blues under manager Maurizio Sarri and could look to leave the Blues.
“The situation I have ended up in has been very difficult to accept,” Christensen told Ekstra Bladet.
“The messages we have received are that Chelsea cannot appeal the case (of their transfer ban) and therefore want to keep all the players.
“I have tried to show myself on the training track, but it is difficult because it is limited how much we train with all the matches the team is going to play.
“Now I have played the matches in the Europa League and hope it will continue as long as we are in the tournament.”
