Chelsea fans LOVE what Petr Cech has done - Liverpool supporters will not be happy
CHELSEA fans are revelling in Petr Cech serving up a reminder of his debut season in English football to put Liverpool No 1 Alisson in his place.
Cech joined Chelsea from Rennes back in 2004 as billionaire owner Roman Abramovich went about transforming the Blues’ squad.
And he enjoyed immediate success in west London as Jose Mourinho led his side to a Premier League and League Cup double.
Chelsea’s glorious campaign was built on a miserly defence which conceded just 15 goals in 38 top-flight fixtures.
And Cech ended it with an incredible 24 clean sheets, earning him the Premier League Golden Glove some distance.
Petr Cech ultimately left Chelsea for London rivals Arsenal in 2015 following 11 trophy-laden years at Stamford Bridge.
But he retains a place in the hearts of many and has further cemented his legendary status with his most recent tweet.
The official Premier League Twitter account wrote: "Alisson's 17 clean sheets are the most by a goalkeeper in their debut #PL season since Jose Reina in 2005/06 (20)"
And Cech brilliantly responded "I know one guy who had 24CS in his debut EPL season" referring to his own exploits.
A screenshot of Cech’s heavily-retweeted tweet was shared on the r/ChelseaFC subreddit of popular forum site Reddit.
And fans were loving it as they hailed the former Czech Republic international, who is set to retire in the summer.
"You tell them Petr!" read the caption, which accompanied the original post.
"You better Cech yourself before you wreck yourself," added one fan, paraphrasing a well-known saying.
"Hope he joins Chelsea immediately after retirement," said another.
A fourth, using the goalkeeper’s name in a pun, quipped: "And that is Cech mate."
One Chelsea supporter referenced Cech as the greatest of all time, saying: "sometimes a goat gotta goat."
"Cech is a legend," wrote a sixth, before a fan said: "Big Cech setting the record straight!"
