"When you look at the way Mane played in that game [against Watford], it's a totally different way to Firmino," Wright told the Premier League website.
"The way he linked up the play was a different way for Liverpool to attack a team.
"Firmino does come a lot deeper but Mane stayed in areas where he could bring the team on to him and it really worked for Liverpool the other day."
Mane has scored 14 league goals this season, which is already better than his tally of 10 from last term.

Firmino, who had a spell the sidelines through injury, has scored nine goals, compared to his 15 last season.
Klopp is yet to decided whether Firmino is fit to play the full 90 minutes, but remains optimistic.
He said: ”He was out there running [on Thursday], so we have to see how he reacts.
"He is very positive, but it is Bobby's nature as well, so we have to see.
“I don't see any other player - okay, maybe we have two or three - who would even be in contention after the problem he had."
Defender Andrew Robertson has praised Everton manager Marco Silva before the match, and spoke of his admiration for the former Hull boss.
