Arsenal fans will be even ANGRIER when they see this NEW blunder from ref vs Tottenham
ARSENAL drew 1-1 with Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday as the race for a top four spot heats up.
Arsenal took the lead through Juventus-bound Aaron Ramsey before Harry Kane levelled from the penalty spot.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a glorious chance to hand Unai Emery’s side three points, but saw his penalty kick saved by Hugo Lloris.
Jan Vertonghen was quick to clear the danger from the rebound, but one camera angle has revealed how the Belgian was so quick to snuff out a further chance.
The defender was well inside the box when Aubameyang made contact with the ball, which means - by the letter of the law - that the penalty should’ve been retaken.
Arsenal fans were already fuming with referee Anthony Taylor after several Spurs players look to be offside before Mauricio Pochettino’s team were awarded a spot kick.
After the match Gunners boss Emery was quick to mention the controversial decision, and discussed the absence of VAR.
He said: ”We are fine in our way, today being competitive and adapting our performance.
“It demanded a lot of transition for us and it is good, not the result because we can win, but we can be stronger in our mentality after this match going forward.
The referee is a big personality - it is not easy to balance the two teams but I like this referee
"One month ago I said to everybody VAR is coming forward - it is difficult for referees.
“You can analyse with TV and it is easy but referees can't use that now.
“Maybe today's match is different with that but I understand it is difficult.
“The referee is a big personality - it is not easy to balance the two teams but I like this referee.”
Kane grabbed his 16th goal of the Premier League season at Wembley, and he described the game of having ‘a bit of everything’.
“It was another good derby, a passionate one, it had a bit of everything," he said.
“In the first half we were disappointed; we created a few chances but were not clinical enough.
“The second-half was just about fighting for the team and club and we did that and we got the goal we deserved.“
