And he is hoping to continue that form when the two sides clash at Wembley tonight.
"I don't know how or why this record has happened," Son told the club's matchday programme.
"To score against them has always been special, of course every goal has been important to me.
"I try to score in every game but especially against Dortmund I've scored a few more goals and been a bit lucky as well so I'm looking forward to playing them again.
"It's really exciting to play at Signal Iduna Park too, because their stadium is amazing as well.

"I think people just recognise how many goals I've scored against the yellow shirts.
"It's a bit of fun and I think we can laugh about it but I hope I can score against them tonight band keep that run going."
Dortmund are five points clear of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga and Son knows his team will have to be at their best to give themselves a fighting chance to progress in the second leg.
"Of course, they are doing very well in the Bundesliga - they are at the top of the table," he added.

"But we have been looking forward to this match, it's exciting.
"Both teams are doing well. It's going to be a big fight as it's never an easy win.
"You have to work harder than your opponents and if you do, you have a great chance."
