Will Chelsea SACK Maurizio Sarri? Sky Sports man's telling comments after Man City defeat
MAURIZIO SARRI stormed down the tunnel after Manchester City thrashed them 6-0 - and Sky Sports man Martin Tyler is pondering whether the Chelsea boss 'fears the worst'.
Sarri's side were torn apart in a brutal Etihad showing as Manchester City went back to the top of the Premier League table.
Sergio Aguero struck a hat-trick, Raheem Sterling got two and Ilkay Gundogan bagged one himself.
There were calls for Sarri to be sacked IMMEDIATELY and Tyler hinted that a shock exit could be on the cards.
The Italian left Pep Guardiola hanging at the full-time whistle as he walked off without shaking the City boss' hand.
I wonder if Sarri fears the worst
Sarri's assistant Gianfranco Zola rushed to Guardiola to play down the issue and Tyler thinks it could become more severe.
"I wonder if Sarri fears the worst," Tyler said on commentary. "It certainly looked like that."
Tyler's Sky Sports colleague Graeme Souness heaped praise on City after the match and said they had laid down a marker to Liverpool, who are back in second.
"They were ruthless, devastating and clinical. City were fabulous," he said.
"I don't know how to describe it but I watched the first five minutes and I thought Chelsea would have a real go.
"Some of the goals were avoidable but I was gobsmacked at the end with the way Chelsea seemed to give up.
"That's an accusation they will have to deal with from more than me.
"City have put a marker down today that Lievrpool have to win every game from hereon in."
