Fellaini has blown hot and cold during his time at Manchester United. Signed from Everton in 2014, he initially struggled.
He then emerged as a key player for Louis van Gaal, though, helping them win the FA Cup in 2016.
Jose Mourinho then replaced Van Gaal mere months later.
And he, too, liked Fellaini. Together, the duo helped United win EFL Cup and Europa League titles.
And fans have now taken to social media to make their feelings on the Belgian clear.
While some United supporters have heralded the 31-year-old, many are glad to be seeing the back of him.
“If fellaini finally f**ks off today could be the best #TransferDeadlineDay ever! #mufc,” one tweeted.
“Thank f**k he’s going, one of the least technical footballers I’ve seen at United. Awful player,” were the thoughts of another supporter.
“Fellaini did nothing good for us, was immobile, had passing range of baby with no football brain. Can't blame him though Moyes thought he was good enough,” another supporter added.
“As much as I disagreed with them, I kind of get where the Mourinho cultists were coming from. The "Fellaini till I die" types, never got it and never will. He's gone, good riddance,” were the thoughts of a fourth supporter.
Another tweeted: “Fellaini is boarding a plane to China! I'm so happy.”
“Fellaini leaving 4 seasons too late,” someone else chimed.
“Mourinho did everything to keep that tossing Fellaini player. Ole comes in and offloads him. My Ole! What a fantastic man,” was another viewpoint.
Fellaini stands to earn £365,000-a-week when his United exit is confirmed.
And that transfer will make him one of the best-paid players in world football.
First deal on deadline day
It took until just after 10am for the first move to get done - Wolves completing the permanent signing of Jonny Otto from Atletico Madrid for what is understood to be a club-record £18million fee.
Jonny, who has made 22 appearances on loan in the first half of the season, has agreed a permanent deal at Molineux until 2023.
"I'm very happy to sign for Wolves," the 24-year-old told the official club website.
"The last few days we spoke about it and now it's official, I'll be Wolves for the next four years.
"I'm really happy to continue to be involved with the team. I am very happy here, the truth is that it was very easy to decide."
