Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is not happy with Nice wanting Alfredo Morelos for £8m.
“Whoever it is who’s preparing an £8m bid for Alfredo is disrespecting Alfredo first and foremost,” Gerrard said.
“He’s the top scorer in the league and there have been players who have gone for double that amount who don’t score as many goals as him.
“So I think it’s very disrespectful to Alfredo, to the club and me. I’ve been made aware that they are preparing an £8m bid but they are wasting their time. It’s nowhere near enough and the player isn’t for sale.”

22:00 UPDATE: Chelsea alert over Icardi
Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent - Wanda Nara - has revealed the striker is yet to sit down to Inter Milan contract talks.
And that has suitors Chelsea and Real Madrid on red alert.

“Mauro still has two-and-a-half years on his contract, there's nothing to worry about.”

Tim Sherwood has criticised the situation Arsenal have got themselves into over Mesut Ozil.
“I think he (Unai Emery) needs to get Ozil back on side,” Sherwood said on Sky Sports. “I know a lot of people would give him credit for leaving him out because he’s not doing it on the pitch and it looks good in the dressing room to the other players.
“But it doesn’t look good to the boardroom. The boardroom are going to be saying ‘we’re paying him £350,000-a-week, you need to get something out of him’ because it’s going to be very difficult to get rid of him.
“No one is going to want to pay those wages. What they’re going to end up doing is loaning him somewhere and contributing £200,000 to his wages, which is not very good business.”

16:45 UPDATE: Balotelli to West Ham
West Ham have launched an audacious late bid to sign Mario Balotelli from under the noses of Marseille.
That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa.
He tweeted: ‘New bid for Balotelli. West Ham come for the forward and have a chance of surprising Marseille.’
Balotelli is all set to leave Nice after a disappointing season at the French club, where he is yet to score.

Leeds United want to sign Polish midfielder Mateusz Bogusz.
The YEP claim Bogusz, 17, is also wanted at Brighton but Leeds are keen to get a deal done.
Bogusz’s club Ruch Chorzow have confirmed Leeds’ interest and a formal offer has been made.
But should Poland U19 international Bogusz arrive at Elland Road he would almost certainly head to the reserve team.

16:20 UPDATE: Arsenal manger unhappy
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is unhappy with Sven Mislintat’s singings - and that’s why the latter is leaving the club.
That is according to ex-Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood, who said: “It looks like they’re going to be on the change and they’re going to change the system and the way they want to work.
“They’re probably going to bring another one in because that’s the model they want. But it’s not going to be this man [Mislintat].
“So he’s going to go to pastures new and Emery’s going to probably get his man in there who is going to identify the players he wants. He’s obviously not happy at the ones the guy who’s leaving in February, Sven Mislintat, has brought in.”

New Barcelona signing Kevin-Prince Boateng admits he will not be a regular starter at the Nou Camp.
Boateng signed on loan from Sassuolo until the end of the season and is realistic about his expectations for the remainder of the campaign.
“I do not expect to be a starter because here are excellent players, I come to bring experience and help the team,” he said.
"I am almost 32 years old and the role of No 9 is perfect for me now. I feel very comfortable in that position.”

14.20 UPDATE: Everton scouting blow
Everton scout Carlo Jacomuzzi has serious doubts about the Toffees’ chances of signing the players they have told him to watch.
Jacomuzzi has revealed he was sent to watch Napoli’s 2-1 win over Lazio at the Stadio San Paolo on Sunday.
“The contest between Napoli and Lazio?” Jacomuzzi told Italian station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“Yesterday I had fun. Seeing [Jose] Callejon is always a pleasure, but also Mario Rui has made a great match for intensity.
“[Amadou] Diawara? I wrote that there are many valid players but Everton does not make the Champions League, so why should a player move from Napoli to come to us?”

14.00 UPDATE: Rangers stance confirmed
Alfredo Morelos is going nowhere this month according to Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.
"There's been nothing concrete," Gerrard said
"At the moment in this window, Alfredo won't be going anywhere. But every one of our players has got a price, I'm not naive enough to sit here and say they haven't.
"But none of my players will be going out the door, certainly in this window, so anyone who is preparing a bid or thinking of a bid will be wasting their time."

13.50 UPDATE: Arsenal want TWO in
Arsenal may let Aaron Ramsey head to Juventus this month if they can snare James Rodriguez and Denis Suarez, reports claim.
Ramsey has already passed medical with the Serie A giants and is set to join them on a free transfer in the summer.
The Independent indicate he could be allowed to leave before the end of January in a deal worth around £10m.
That would, however, be dependent on Arsenal welcoming Rodriguez and Suarez to the Emirates on loan.

13.35 UPDATE: Man Utd missions
Manchester United have sent spies on multiple scouting missions to watch PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn, according to claims in Holland.
United are set for a quiet January transfer window with caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer happy with the squad he has at his disposal.
But Old Trafford chiefs are planning for the future and it seems their next permanent manager could have Bergwijn delivered to him.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraph claim United have watched the 21-year-old on several occasions and are increasingly impressed.

13.20 UPDATE: Liverpool hint
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has hailed Rafael Camacho and offered up a big clue he will not make a signing to solve his right-back crisis.
"[Before Nathaniel Clyne was loaned out], we had plenty of options and now we don't have them," Klopp said. "That's how it is in our next games. Trent got an injury and it's serious but not that serious. He will be back early but I don't know if early enough for the next game.
"Maybe the game after. Everyone gives me the feeling – Trent as well – that it is absolutely possible but we have to wait and cannot risk anything.
"We have to come through this situation. Tell me a player who can play right-back and other positions as well better than our boys like Rafa can do?"

13.05 UPDATE: Chelsea slammed
Chelsea are following the path of Manchester United under David Moyes by signing players who Maurizio Sarri has coached before, claims a fuming Blues fan Paul Merson.
"For me I would play [Oliver Giroud]," Merson said. "Sarri, he loves Jorginho, he’s had him before. He brought him in and he’s stuck with him. Now he’s bringing in [Gonzalo] Higuain, he knows him.
"David Moyes got absolutely slaughtered when he brought [Marouane] Fellaini in [at United]. It was like, ‘He’s only brought him in because he knows him!’
"This is exactly what this man’s doing. There’s no vision, there’s no outside the box [thinking]. It’s like, ‘I know these two players, I’ll play these two.’"

12.50 UPDATE: Tottenham move talked up
Tottenham out to forget about signing rumoured target Andy Carroll and go for Edin Dzeko, says former Spurs midfielder Micky Hazard.
"I’d like to see Edin Dzeko come in," Hazard told Love Sport Radio. "I think he's a top player and I don't think he's in the team at the moment [at Roma].
"Thankfully it's not my decision but if I was manager of Spurs I wouldn't be looking to Andy Carroll. I don't think he'd fit into our way of playing.
"He might do us a job during this period when we've got an absolutely incredible injury list and Son [Heung-min] away which compounds it. But I am a bit of a purist and I have a style of play that I like to see and I think Dzeko would fit in better than Andy Carroll."
