Marinovic is currently a free agent after leaving Vancouver Whitecaps at the end of the recent Major League Soccer season.
Gerrard admitted the trial “is planned for a week” after a 3-2 friendly win over HJK Helsinki.
One player who won’t be joining Rangers though is former Manchester United man Nick Powell.
Gers were linked with Powell, with Old Firm rivals Celtic also believed to be interested.

But Gerrard insisted he was not aware of the club making a move for the Wigan star.
When asked about reports of Rangers' interest, Gerrard replied: "It's the first I've heard of it."
Gerrard has confirmed though that Rangers are close to completing the signing of Matt Polster.
The USA international has impressed during a trial period with the Gers.
Gerrard revealed last week that the club were hatching a long-term contract for the 25-year-old.
