Arsenal news: Jack Wilshere reveals Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ‘frustration’ at team-mates
ARSENAL striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gets frustrated when his team-mates are not able to pick him out after he has made a run in behind.
That is according to West Ham midfielder and former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere.
Aubameyang has looked at home in the Premier League since joining the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018.
The Gabon international scored 24 league goals in 34 appearances for Arsenal ahead of Saturday’s trip to West Ham.
Wilshere claims the 29-year-old is a “dream” to play with for a midfielder.
He makes runs and he gets frustrated when midfielders don’t find him
But he admits Aubameyang can get annoyed if your passing is not on point.
“For a midfielder he’s a dream,” Wilshere said on Sky Sports.
“He came in January last year and I played with him for the second half of the season.
“He makes runs and he gets frustrated when midfielders don’t find him.
“But he does it consistently throughout the game, he will make three or four runs a half that are crying out for a ball to be put in behind.
“Defences in the Premier League will hate that.
“As a centre-back, the last thing you want is a quick player who runs behind and he does that.”
Arsenal Women legend Alex Scott has also heaped praise on Aubameyang, claiming he has the right type of arrogance on the pitch.
“You can just see how much Aubameyang enjoys being out there on the pitch,” Scott said.
“Scoring goals, but working hard for other people as well.
“He has that confidence as a player, those top players have it, that football arrogance.
“I don’t know if it is the right word but he has that swag about him.
“He’s one of those players in the Premier League who people want to watch and enjoy watching.”
Aubameyang was on the losing side on Saturday as West Ham won 1-0 thanks to a Declan Rice goal.
