Man Utd transfer news: £54m Milan Skriniar update, Kostas Manolas claim, next boss advice
MAN UTD TRANSFER NEWS is coming thick and fast and Express Sport is on hand with the latest involving Milan Skriniar, Kostas Manolas and Antonio Conte.
And transfer expert Palmeri has now revealed Old Trafford chiefs have already lodged a hefty bid for the 23-year-old.
Writing in his column for Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Palmeri says United have proposed a £54m (€60m) fee to Inter.
However, it seems Inter’s valuation of Skriniar was not met with San Siro bigwigs still hard at work trying to keep hold of him.
Skriniar wants his impressive performances to be rewarded with a significant boost on his £1.5m-a-year (€1.7m) wages.

But Inter Milan chiefs Giuseppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have only tabled a deal worth £2.3m (€2.6m) a year to date.
Skriniar is under contract at Inter until 2022 but he might try to force his way out of the club.
And Palmeri says Inter would have to command a world-record £81m (€90m) to justify letting him leave.
That figure would trump the £75m Liverpool paid Southampton for defensive talisman Virgil van Dijk last year.

United, though, may see it as value for money given the shortage of elite level centre-backs in the modern game.
Inter’s stance on Skriniar could change slightly if they need to raise funds to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
While there it might be necessary to shed his salary in order to make room for Diego Godin.
Inter are eager to snap up Atletico Madrid star Godin on a free transfer in the summer.
Palmeri says United were previously in the race sign Godin, but cooled their interest having been rejected by him when Jose Mourinho was still in charge in Manchester.

Meanwhile, another of United’s possible centre-back targets Kostas Manolas might not join them just because he is represented by Mino Raiola.
Raiola has helped United secure a number of signings over the years, most notably the club-record purchase of Paul Pogba.
And speculation has grown that he will help deliver Manolas to them because he represents the Roma defender.
However, ESPN say Raiola and Manolas’ relationship dates back to 2014 so he has not just been brought on board to arrange a move to United.

Finally, United have been advised about what they must do if they want to appoint Antonio Conte as Mourinho’s permanent successor.
When asked if Conte would be better for Real Madrid or United, his former right-hand man Angelo Alessio told RMC Sport: "He would be good for both teams.
"The important thing for Antonio is to find a club that gives him a long-term project."
Mauricio Pochettino is thought to remain the frontrunner for the United job thanks to his exploits at Tottenham.
