Liverpool player ratings vs Wolverhampton Wanderers – FA Cup
GK: Simon Mignolet - 5
Almost got a hand on the opener and was left stranded for Neves’ strike.
Barely made a save otherwise, although his handling from crosses was sound.
RB: Rafael Camacho – 6
Given a tough examination but kept his head above water with some important tackles.
Started to get forward more in the second half and went close with one rasping drive, although needs to work on his delivery.
CB: Dejan Lovren – N/A
Forced off injured after five minutes, leaving Liverpool with an unrecognisable defence.
CB: Fabinho – 7
Deployed in an unfamiliar defensive role but did not look too out of place.
Sold himself for the opener but won some big challenges on a tough evening.
LB: Alberto Moreno – 6
Offered plenty of momentum down the left and was solid enough defensively.
Used the ball well but doesn’t have the same quality of delivery as Andrew Robertson.
RM: Xherdan Shaqiri – 6
Very quiet in the first half as Liverpool struggled to get going.
Picked things up after the break and rattled the post with a wicked free-kick, but needed to do more before the arrival of Salah and Firmino.
CM: James Milner – 4
Went in the book early for a cynical foul on Diogo Jota as the Portuguese forward broke away in midfield.
Then lost possession and failed to cover back in time for the Wolves opener on what was a tough night for Liverpool's most experienced player.
CM: Naby Keita – 5
Has to take partial responsibility for Milner’s booking after losing possession.
Started getting more involved in the second half and carried the ball well as the Reds pushed on, although one woeful pass to Salah summed up his night.
LM: Curtis Jones – 6
Can be happy with his contribution, despite failing to create any clear-cut chances for his team-mates.
Started out wide on the left and showed some neat touches before being sacrificed when Klopp called the cavalry.
ST: Daniel Sturridge – 5
Frustrating night for the striker as he struggled to get on the ball for long periods of the match.
Marshalled well by the Wolves rearguard and didn’t have a chance of note.
ST: Divock Origi – 7
Barely had a touch in the first half but then came alive with a lovely drop of the shoulder and fierce drive to get Liverpool back in the game.
SUB: Ki-Jana Hoever (on for Lovren, 6 mins) – 8
A real positive for the Reds, with the debutant shining under huge pressure.
One brilliant run and pass late on epitomised the 16-year-old defender’s confidence.
SUB: Mohamed Salah (on for Sturridge, 69 mins) – 5
Would much rather have sat this one out and didn’t get much of a chance after his introduction.
SUB: Roberto Firmino (on for Jones, 69 mins) – 5
Like Salah, helped up the quality of the game with his movement and touch but didn’t get a clear sight of goal.
