Liverpool transfer news: Five most likely signings for January revealed - bookies' odds
LIVERPOOL are currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League and on course to win their first league title in nearly 30 years.
Fekir to Liverpool should have been a done deal says expert
Jurgen Klopp's men currently top the table by four points with 17 matches of the season left.
The Reds would’ve almost certainly put one hand on the trophy had they not suffered a 2-1 defeat to second-placed Manchester City on Thursday, a loss which has well and truly reignited the title race.
January reinforcements could get the Merseysiders over the line and see them lift their first Premier League title.
Betfair have priced up the five players most likely to move to Anfield this month, which you can see below.
Nabil Fekir – 15/8
Lyon’s Nabil Fakir was on the brink of becoming a Liverpool player last year.
The Reds agreed a fee for the France international but the £53million deal collapsed at the medical stage.
The club are understood to still hold an interest in acquiring the World Cup winner’s services and could very well renew their interest in him this month. Whether Lyon are willing to part company with him this month remains to be seen.
Lorenzo Insigne – 10/1
Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne is also rumoured to be on Liverpool’s radar following his impressive season so far, in which he’s scored 10 goals in 23 appearances.
However, with the Gli Azzurri desperate to close the gap on Serie A champions Juventus and win their first Scudetto in nearly 30 years, it’s unlikely they’ll let the forward leave this month.
Timo Werner – 10/1
In the summer, Liverpool were also heavily linked with a move for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.
According to reports, the Reds were willing to splash out £36million to sign the Germany striker, who has scored 13 goals in 21 appearances so far this season.
Werner is out of contract in 2020 and has been warned he will be sold if he doesn’t pen a new deal.
So if Liverpool want to sign him, now would be a good time to do so.
Suso – 12/1
One man Liverpool have surprisingly been linked with is Suso, who played for the Reds from 2012 until 2015.
The Spain international has flourished since leaving Anfield and joining AC Milan, scoring 20 goals and bagging 34 assists for Gennaro Gattuso’s side.
Last year, it was reported that Klopp is keen on bringing the midfielder back to Merseyside, though that seems unlikely given the club’s current success.
Malcolm – 14/1
Barcelona’s Malcolm was a target for Liverpool before his £36.5million move to the Nou Camp.
Malcolm has yet to establish himself in the first team, though, and there are suggestions he could leave the Catalan club on loan.
So should Klopp want to add more firepower to his squad, a move for the Brazilian would be more than warranted.
Malcom – 14/1
Barcelona’s Malcom was a target for Liverpool before his £36.5million move to the Nou Camp.
