Man Utd news: Pundit makes 'disappointing' Paul Pogba revelation about Jose Mourinho
PAUL POGBA would have ‘disappointed’ Ian Rush if he didn’t try for Jose Mourinho when he was in charge of Manchester United.
Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United last week after a torrid campaign to date which ended on a sour note for the Portuguese tactician after a 3-1 defeat away to Liverpool.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was swiftly appointed as the caretaker manager until the end of the season, although it is widely suggested that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could take the reins at Old Trafford next summer on a permanent basis.
Pogba, meanwhile, endured a fractious relationship with Mourinho when he was at the helm.
After Mourinho lost his job, Pogba posted a picture of himself smiling on Instagram with a wink face which caused some uproar.
While Rush admits he wouldn’t be happy to see the French midfielder not performing for the manager, he reckons Pogba has a new lease of life under Solskjaer.
When asked whether Pogba didn’t play for Mourinho, Rush said on beIN Sports: “Well I’d imagine so but no player should do that to the manager.
“If he has done that, I’d be disappointed.
“I think he’s enjoying his football now.

“That’s what is making a difference.
“Solskjaer is saying ‘Go do what you want to do’.”
Rush also thinks Pogba - who scored a double in a 3-1 win over Huddersfield on Boxing Day - thrives when he has a licence to roam free.
“You got to let him do what he wants and let the team work around him,” Rush added.
“You can ask him to drop off and track back.
“He won the World Cup by doing things like this, so let him do what he wants to do.”
United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, eight points off the top four.
Solskjaer’s men are next in action on Sunday (4.30pm) at home to Bournemouth.
