Man Utd news: ‘Not a chance’ - huge January transfer ruled out
MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford will NOT be leaving the club to join AC Milan in the January transfer window.
Man United: 'No chance' of Rashford transfer says pundit
That is the verdict of Liverpool legend and ESPN FC pundit Steve Nicol.
England international Marcus Rashford has reportedly emerged as a target for AC Milan this week.
The Serie A side are said to “dream” of convincing the 21-year-old to leave Old Trafford for the San Siro.
Rashford has been in and out of the United starting XI this season, making 18 appearances in all competitions.
For me he’s the centre-forward of the future for United. So I just don’t see any way possible that Rashford leaves
He has rarely been given a chance as the main central striker since Jose Mourinho took charge in 2016.
However, Nicol can see Rashford playing in that role for years to come at United.
And he does not understand why he would want to leave and join Milan, who are currently 17 points adrift of Serie A leaders Juventus.
“Not a chance. Not a chance,” Nicol said.
“One, I don’t know why he would want to leave Manchester United.
“And two, why would Man United want to let this guy go?
“For me he’s the centre-forward of the future for United.
“So I just don’t see any way possible that Rashford leaves.
“And certainly if he does, which he won’t, he's not going to AC Milan either.”
Rashford scored the final goal in United's 4-1 win over Fulham on Saturday.
He could feature in the Champions League clash away to Valencia on Wednesday.
United go into the game having already qualified for the last 16.
They need to beat Valencia and hope Young Boys do them a favour against Juventus in order to finish top of the group.
