Man Utd chief makes Mourinho job decision
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward has reportedly decided to stick with Jose Mourinho despite his ongoing war with Pogba.
The World Cup winner has struggled this season, with the Red Devils leaving him on the bench for three of their last four matches.
And Goal say that, despite Mourinho coming down hard on the club’s talisman, Woodward is standing by the Red Devils boss.
The reason for Woodward's resolution is unclear, however. It could be because it is cheaper to sack Jose Mourinho at the end of the season if the club miss out on a top four finish due to a clause in his contract.
Pogba to Barcelona twist
United midfielder Pogba has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with Barcelona emerging as possible suitors for the France international.
However, the Daily Mail have now provided a twist in the transfer saga.
It is said that Barcelona have cooled their interest in signing the United star.
And that means Pogba may not be sold in January.
Instead, should the club choose to stand by Mourinho, a summer departure looks more likely.
Matic stance
Mourinho’s stance on United midfielder Nemanja Matic has finally been explained.
The Serbia international’s regular selection has left many supporters and pundits scratching their heads.
But the Manchester Evening News have now opened up on the 30-year-old.
It is said Mourinho backs Matic because he brings experience to the side.
And that is why the United boss is more inclined to leave Pogba out instead.
