Scholes is not convinced that Zidane would turn his old club's fortunes around straight away - stating that the job differs from his time at Real Madrid.
Speaking to BT Sport, Scholes had a stark warning for United fans.

“I think the assistant (leaving) is the big one," he said.
“Rui Faria was with him for a long time, he had been at every club with him.
“All of a sudden he is gone and apparently, I don’t know, but apparently he was very influential in what he did day to day. He’s lost that and he (Jose Mourinho) does look a bit lonely at times. I think that’s a big part of it.”
The Red Devils have been on a dismal Premier League run as of late, picking up only three points in their last four games - with their last win coming away at Bournemouth at the beginning of November.
They'll have the opportunity to return to winning ways on Saturday, though, when they host struggling Fulham.
