Jose Mourinho says Man United will 'compete' at Man City
Man Utd stance on Zidane
Manchester United have no plans to name Zidane as their Mourinho replacement following their Champions League victory over Juventus.
That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who have decided to quell some myths.
It has previously been claimed Zidane had held secret talks over the Manchester United but that, supposedly, is not the case.
Mourinho still retains the club’s full backing and now, after that epic Juventus triumph, that is unlikely to change.
Mourinho punishment orders
Mourinho should be kicked out of football for his gesture at Juventus fans during their Champions League win.
That’s according to El Larguero radio presenter Manu Carreno, who said: “Mourinho should be kicked out of football, for good.
“He’s a guy who has no sense of ridicule, who doesn’t have any manners, doesn’t have a sense of shame.
“What he did today at the end of the Juventus-Manchester United game is difficult to watch. It’s actually uncomfortable to watch.
“He’s a two-bit thug who needs to be kicked out of football.
“This kind of guy annoys the world of football. He doesn’t have any class, and, ultimately, doesn’t win.
“He always has an excuse.”
A bit harsh but Mourinho, given what he achieved last night, is unlikely to care.
Ronaldo claim
Former Arsenal boss Wenger believes Juventus forward Ronaldo will have hated losing to United last night.
He told beIN Sports: "It is such a fantastic goal, it surprises us all.
“We have seen so many games but we're still surprised because he does the unexpected.
"He has a short backlift, it doesn't take him time to hit the ball and even the keeper didn't move.
Cristiano Ronaldo hugs Wes Brown after Man Utd match
“De Gea has fantastic reactions but even he didn't lift a hand.
"He [Ronaldo] will go home tonight, believe me, absolutely gutted because a goal like that will not be highlighted because they lost the game.
“This goal, with a 1-0 victory, would have been all over the world tomorrow."
United are next in action against Manchester City on Sunday (4.30pm).
