Fantasy Premier League tips: Who should I captain in FPL GW7? Lukaku, Hazard or Aguero?
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE captain choices will be the difference between a good and a great weekend – so who will you give the armband to in GW7?
Fantasy Premier League bosses have plenty of captain candidates this week as a number of tempting fixtures throw up the potential for huge points hauls.
Romelu Lukaku is a stand-out option ahead of Manchester United’s trip to West Ham, with the Belgian boasting a brilliant record against the Hammers.
The 25-year-old has 11 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions against Saturday’s opponents and is expected to add to that tally at the London Stadium.
Meanwhile, Eden Hazard has six goals in his last five outings for Chelsea – including a stunning Carabao Cup strike against Liverpool – but will you back him to hit the target again?
Sergio Aguero was rested in midweek and should come back firing at home against Brighton, although Pep Guardiola may be tempted to rotate his squad in preparation for the Champions League.
Richarlison looks like Everton’s most attacking threat and should cause Fulham problems while Dele Alli is fit once again and ready to punish struggling Huddersfield.
There is also a case for captaining a marauding defender this week, although FPL favourite Benjamin Mendy is still an injury doubt and may not feature.
Express Sport has selected seven top captain options for your Fantasy Premier League team ahead of GW7, but who will you choose?
Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United) – West Ham United (A)
Manchester United are in something of a crisis with Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba at loggerheads following a shock exit from the Carabao Cup.
However, amid all the uncertainty at Old Trafford it is almost guaranteed that Romelu Lukaku will start and score against West Ham.
The Belgian has 11 goals in 10 games against the Hammers and is expected to add to his tally here.
Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur) – Huddersfield Town (A)
The England midfielder has been struggling with injury in recent weeks but came off the bench against Brighton before playing a key role in the Carabao Cup victory over Watford.
Cheaper than Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, and potentially just as explosive with his attacking returns.
Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – Liverpool (H)
A wonderful piece of solo skill from Hazard saw Chelsea edge out Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round, and there’s no reason why the Belgian can’t replicate that again this weekend.
Five goals in his last three league appearances is an impressive return from a player at the top of his game.
Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal) – Watford (H)
Looks to have finally convinced Unai Emery of his worth with the striker having played every minute of Arsenal’s past three Premier League matches.
Two goals and three assists so far this campaign suggest a man in form, while Lacazette was also on target against Brentford on Wednesday night.
Richarlison (Everton) – Fulham (H)
The Brazilian easily looks Everton’s most potent attacking threat as the Toffees strikers struggle for goals.
Richarlison could cash in when Fulham visit Goodison Park, with the Cottagers keen to play attacking football at the expense of defensive solidity.
Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) – Brighton & Hove Albion (H)
Pep Guardiola’s team selection is always difficult to predict, but the Argentinian should get the nod after being rested in midweek.
A home tie against Brighton should present a relatively easy opportunity for Aguero to add to his four goals and four assists so far this season.
Matt Doherty (Wolverhampton Wanderers) – Southampton (H)
Yes, he’s a defender. And yes, it’s much more risky to captain one of the rearguard when clean sheets are so hard to come by.
But, Wolves have conceded just six goals all season while Southampton have only managed to score the same total – presenting a tempting match-up for bold managers.
Doherty showed his potential for bonus points in the victory over Burnley and is still a huge differential with just 2.6 per cent of bosses owning the wing-back.
