Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah makes Jurgen Klopp transfer revelation
LIVERPOOL star Mohamed Salah has revealed Jurgen Klopp treated him like his ‘friend’ after he signed at Anfield.
The Egyptian enjoyed a record-breaking season on his return to English football after signing from Roma.
The forward scored 32 Premier League goals to win the Golden Boot and was named the PFA Player of the Year.
Speaking to France Football ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League opener with PSG on Tuesday, Salah paid tribute to the Kop boss.
“From my first day with the Reds, he treated me like a friend," Salah said.
“We talked together and there was something very strong between us right away. That current has continued from the beginning.”
Salah has become the figurehead of Liverpool’s deadly front three which is regarded as one of the best in world football.
Their understanding on the pitch is also due to their friendship off the field.
Salah explained: “We are friends, we speak a lot. Generally, all three of us sit in the dressing room together, right after matches.
“There is real solidarity between us, as we do not care who scores most of first.”
Salah quickly became a favourite at Anfield and has enjoyed the support he's received so far from Reds fans.
He said: "Within a month or two, I had my own song, it is so special. Since I arrived, I've felt this passion & love. They are quite simply the best."
Liverpool host PSG at Anfield on Tuesday night nearly four months after heartbreak in Kiev against Real Madrid in last season's final.
Salah left the pitch in tears after picking up a shoulder injury from a clash with Sergio Ramos.
The No 11 is relishing the chance to prove his worth against the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.
He added: "PSG have exceptional individuals & a great squad. I can't wait to play against them! I expect an intense & enjoyable match.
"Of course we can make the final again. I am sure we can win the tournament.
"I think we can win both, Champions League & the Premier League. I don't want to put pressure on, but everything is possible!"
