The winger has flown to Brussels for talks with Anderlecht bosses.
Markovic is still yet to discuss personal terms with the Belgian outfit, but will hope to reach an agreement ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.
Having entered the final year of his contract, this was Liverpool’s final chance to recuperate something from his flop at Anfield.
Anderlecht were facing competition from Greek club PAOK in the race for the Serbian’s signature, but they seem to have won that race.

The next battle now comes as Anderlecht rush to finalise the deal before tonight’s window slams shut.
Markovic spent time on loan at Fenerbahce, Sporting Lisbon, Hull City and finally Anderlecht, spending the second half of last season with his new club.
And he must have impressed, despite being put on a special fitness programme upon arrival, meaning he was unavailable for much of the spell.
One man he failed to impress though, was Jurgen Klopp.

Having not played competitively for the Reds since May 2015, he failed to feature under the German, and today the two will finally cut ties.
The Belgian side have splashed £15m so far this summer, bringing in no less than 15 players from across Europe.
Their main signing has come in the form of Bubacarr Sanneh, a centre-back from Danish club FC Midtjylland for around £7m.
They have also brought in Valencia’s Zakaria Bakkali, who was tipped to be a big star, and defender Ognjen Vranjes from AEK Athens.
