Celtic transfer news: Moussa Dembele goes on social media FRENZY stating he wants to leave
MOUSSA DEMBELE’s immediate future at Celtic will be determined once and for all by the end of today, and he has made it clear he wants to leave with Lyon strongly linked.
Brendan Rodgers gives update on Dembele and Boyata's future
Dembele is wanted by Ligue 1 side Lyon, but Celtic have made it clear they do not want to sell the striker unless an adequate replacement can be found.
He wasn’t included in the Celtic squad that clinched the club’s place in the Europa League group stage draw in last night’s win over Suduva.
Celtic rejected a reported £18million bid from Lyon yesterday with the Hoops desperate to keep the attacker.
However, Dembele has taken to social media to hint his frustration at the current situation with the transfer window closing this evening.
The forward posted a picture with the words “A man, without his word, is nothing. A real man keeps his word.” emblazoned across the image.
It led to Celtic fans suggesting it was a hint that he is being kept against his wishes at Celtic.
One fan tweeted: “This is aimed at someone (Lawwell, Rodgers) for not letting him leave.”
But another attacked Dembele, saying: “So let me see if I’ve got this straight; five days ago it was all about three points and “thanks for the support.” Today it’s “what the f*** am I still doing here?” as if you’re a guy we’re not letting out of prison. How about “a real man honours his contract?” Too much to ask?”
The Frenchman then tried to clarify the tweet by stating it was nothing against the fans.
“Don't get it wrong Bhoys and Ghirls nothing to do with people who really care about the club @CelticFC ??????too much love and respect for you and the crest #CarefulWhoYouCallTheLeaderOfYours”
But he has since ‘liked’ EIGHT tweets from Celtic fans suggesting he wants to leave.
One of those tweets stated if Dembele does end up leaving then he would go “with the fans blessing”.
While a second read: “If Celtic have agreed a strategy with Moussa then surely we have to be true to our word.”
