Fekir’s future has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer and with the English transfer window closing on Thursday, it still remains far from clear.
The 25-year-old was on the brink of joining Liverpool in June but the deal collapsed when concerns were raised about his knee following a medical.
It has since opened the door for other clubs to swoop in and Chelsea have been among the clubs mentioned.
And Giroud has confirmed he and team-mate Eden Hazard have been working to persuade the French playmaker about coming to Stamford Bridge ever since his failed Liverpool switch.

“I spoke to him when we were together in the French national team, when his move to Liverpool fell through,” the Chelsea striker told RMC Sport.
“Then we discussed Chelsea, and I even think that Eden said a couple of words to him.
“We would obviously welcome him, he is a super player, but I don’t know if this is something that could happen as the window closes on Thursday.”
Earlier this week, Fekir insisted he was “very happy” at Lyon, saying: “As you can see, I am in Lyon. I am very happy here.

“I feel brilliant in this squad. We have very good players, a great atmosphere. We feel good together and I hope that Lyon will have a very good season.”
Fekir did not feature for Lyon in their pre-season penalty shoot-out defeat to Chelsea last night and speaking after the match, manager Bruno Genesio refused to rule out a late move.
He said: "It's too early to say. He wanted to leave at the end of last season, but came back to training yesterday and was happy.
"Who knows? There may be opportunities that come up before the end of the window. For now, he is a Lyon player."
