KATIE TAYLOR says she is ready to conquer the world lightweight division after her first successful defence of her WBA belt against Jessica McCaskill.

The Olympic gold medalist won a ten-round unanimous decision over McCaskill who provided Taylor with a stern test.
The American came out fighting in the opening rounds and landed some big shots, testing Taylor’s resolve but the Irishwoman stood firm.
Taylor is now 8-0 for her career since making her debut last year and has gone on to establish herself as one of the most feared boxers in her division.
And immediately after clinching victory over McCaskill, Taylor insisted her attention for 2018 will be to take on the best and to unify her weight.

“It was a very tough fight, probably the toughest of my career,” Taylor said.
“I had to be at my best. I thought I boxed well on the outside. I did what I had to do on the inside.
“It sets me up nicely for 2018.
