Does Anthony Joshua have a girlfriend? Boxer's priorities clear as he confirms status
Anthony Joshua's relationship status has been made clear, with the boxing star attempting to take advantage of his free time.
Anthony Joshua made it clear that boxing is at the forefront of his mind, but he is attempting to pursue other opportunities when he has the time. Notably, the boxing star stated his intention to hit the dating scene when he has time to do so - when he isn't focused on boxing.
Joshua, a private person, often has kept his dating life and personal relationships close to his chest, choosing not to share any information on that part of his life. However, he does have an eight-year-old son Joseph Joshua - "JJ" - with his former girlfriend Nicole Osbourne.
Aside from Osbourne, the 34-year-old had been linked to models Cara Delevigne and Bella Hadid in the past. That said, Joshua did clarify his relationship status, thoughts on dating and priorities during an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show back in April.

"I've got some time to go on dates now and mingle a little bit," he said at the time. Additionally, Joshua was clear about dating and admitted he was somewhat clueless, stating: "Yeah, definitely. I don't know what I'm doing actually. Boxing is my priority."
Additionally, Joshua made it known that he is single and would not go out of his way to hide any potential relationship if he was in one. "Imagine me going home to my missus now and she said, 'You denied me!' I don't want the stress," he told Louis Theroux last year.
Joshua also explained in years past that his main "love" is boxing and that is his main focus. Speaking with Chatting Food, the star reiterated his passion for the sport and why nothing really has compared to boxing for him as all of his time is devoted to being the best boxer he can be.
"The honest answer is I don't really date," Joshua shared with the magazine in April 2023. "My last date was in the boxing gym... with boxing, I am married to boxing really. I don't really do dates, I am not really interested in it.
"I am much more in to just being in relaxed situations and developing friendships. I don't think my schedule plays any part in really I just don't put pressure on situations. In terms of kids, I guess it is down to the individual circumstances."
A part of why Joshua is not focusing on dating is the impact it will have on him and his family. If the Brit does end up in a relationship, he wants to make sure whoever he is dating understands what she is getting into, if the relationship does become serious for the two of them.

"I still live with my mum," Joshua revealed. "In our culture, we grew up in our family home, we support our parents. Why am I going to move out and leave my mym by herself, for some girl? Family is the most important thing. When a girl gets with me, she ain't just marrying me, she's marrying my family."
Despite the two no longer being in a relationship, Joshua explained how Osbourne, the mother of their son Joseph Joshua, was an "amazing woman" and still has "so much respect" for her. The two began their relationship in 2005 and welcomed JJ in 2015.
And while Joshua is a boxing star, he would rather his son not take the same path as him. "I would never let him box. I am not interested in him boxing," Joshua said. "Imagine 'Anthony Joshua’s son is boxing'; there would be a target on his back straight away. It will be JJ’s choice but I will advise him he could probably do something completely different and still enjoy life - but he still has to work hard!"
