Tyson Fury has drawn parallels between fellow Brit boxer Daniel Dubois and the iconic Rocky IV character Ivan Drago. 'DDD' finds himself tasked with his toughest challenge to date this weekend, facing Anthony Joshua with his newly-acquired IBF title on the line.

AJ is looking ahead for potential epic bouts, eyeing either a third tussle with Oleksandr Usyk or a long-anticipated clash with Fury himself, depending on the results of their December rematch. Dubois, who represents Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions, boasts an impressive 21-2 record with a whopping 20 knockouts, making him a formidable opponent inside the ring.

And Fury has not held back in lauding Dubois's capabilities, even though they might become rivals in the not-too-distant future. In an interview with BT Sport, the 'Gypsy King' previously said: "Daniel Dubois. He's a big, strong lad and whatever he hits falls. He's like Ivan Drago, isn't he? 'I will hit you and break you, no matter what happens'."

Despite only beginning his professional boxing journey seven years ago, abandoning his slot in Team GB and the quest for Olympic glory, Dubois rapidly established his heavyweight prowess. He had an undefeated streak across 15 fights before encountering his first loss against Joe Joyce in 2020 during a bout that was studded with titles the British, reports the Mirror.

In the tenth round, he could not beat the count after receiving a precise jab to his severely swollen left eye. Despite the setback, Dubois rallied with impressive victories over Bogdan Dinu, Joe Cusumano, Trevor Bryan and Kevin Lerena before facing an undefeated Usyk for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO titles.

However, he was defeated by the Ukrainian in the ninth round after a powerful right hand left him on his knee for the count. Usyk went on to defeat Fury in May, claiming his WBC title and becoming the latest undisputed heavyweight champion..

However, he was stripped of his IBF belt the following month for failing to face mandatory challenger Dubois, choosing instead to honour his commitment to a rematch with Fury in December. Dubois claimed victory over Filip Hrgovic for the interim title in June and was promoted to IBF champion after Usyk gave up the title.

A win against Joshua this weekend could set him up for a grudge match with Usyk or a legacy-defining fight with Fury, depending on the outcome of their winter bout.
