Joshua defended his WBA, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles against Carlos Takam on Saturday.
The Londoner extended his 100 percent knockout record when the referee Phil Edwards controversially stopped the fight in the 10th round.
Joshua is now open for any fight of his choice before he must fight another mandatory challenger.
There was talk that he would fight Deontay Wilder in a huge unification fight.
Anthony Joshua says he is open to fighting Tyson Fury
You talk about AJ versus [Deontay] Wilder but it's nowhere as big as AJ against Fury,
The American is one of the few boxers with a better record than Joshua - winning all 38 of his 39 victories by knockout.
But promoter Hearn thinks that the British public would prefer to see a bout with Fury - and he is keen to make that happen.
"You talk about AJ versus [Deontay] Wilder but it's nowhere as big as AJ against Fury,” Hearn told Sky Sports.
“That is a fight that can be built into something huge.
Fury has not fought two years
“Two completely different characters, two completely different styles, two undefeated heavyweights, two unified champions.
“(It would be) an incredible match up.
“We are going to sit down with AJ and Tyson Fury, and try and build a plan to give what will be unquestionably the biggest fight British boxing history has ever seen."
