Coronation Street and Eastenders MAJOR schedule shake-up confirmed - Here’s why
CORONATION STREET, EastEnders and Emmerdale have confirmed that there will be scheduling chaos in upcoming weeks meaning that some episodes will be replaced or delayed.
Coronation Street: Holly and Phil debut in This Morning crossover
The World Cup is set to take over TV schedules starting from Thursday and it seems that Coronation Street, EastEnders and Emmerdale fans will suffer.
The three soaps will face a major schedule shake-up to make way for the international football.
The World Cup takes place in Russia this year and will dominate TV schedules from June 14 to July 15.
But soap fans shouldn’t worry too much about the shake-up.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale will both still air six episodes of content.
The first shake-up will come on Friday.
Emmerdale will air an hour-long episode at 7pm, with Coronation Street also broadcasting for one hour from 8pm.
Meanwhile, EastEnders will be pushed back to 9.10pm.
On Monday 18 June only the BBC soap will be broadcast at 9.25pm with an hour-long instalment as it will be cancelled on Tuesday 19 June.
Instead, Coronation Street and Emmerdale will each air an hour-long episode.
The scheduling changes are set to continue until the World Cup ends on July 15.
