The Split season 2: Will Nicola Walker BBC drama return? Star speaks out on new series
THE SPLIT will come to an end on BBC One this evening and continues to deal with the fall out of Nathan’s confession to wife Hannah that he slept with another woman while on a business trip.
Annabel Scholey says 'intention' there for second The Split season
The BBC drama follows Hannah Stern (played by Nicola Walker) and the Defoe family law firm.
Over recent weeks viewers have watched as Hannah dealt with very high-profile divorces.
Meanwhile, her family dealt with the aftermath of father Oscar’s (Anthony Head) return to the UK.
The Split has thrilled viewers and now stars of the show Annabel Scholey and Fiona Button have revealed if a second season is on the cards.
During an appearance on This Morning, Annabel appeared to confirm that series two would go ahead.
Host Ruth Langsford asked: “Has this been left open?
“Because obviously we don’t want to tell people what’s happening, I don’t want to know, I’m dying to see.
“But has the door left open, is it open for a second series?”
“Yes, it’s open,” Fiona commented.
Annabel added: “Yes, the intention was always to do another.
“So, yes. We’re hoping.”
“We’d like to do more,” Fiona continued.
Ahead of the interview, Ruth was forced to apologise for pronouncing Annabel’s name incorrectly.
Her husband and co-host Eamonn Holmes revealed to viewers: “Ruth has just asked our next guest how you pronounce her name.”
Annabel chipped in: “No one gets it right! Like Scholesy and school.”
Ruth explained: “Well I apologise, I’ve been saying that incorrectly all morning.”
The official synopsis for tonight’s episode reads: “Maya, Oscar's second wife, finally arrives in London.
“But as the family try to heal divisions and look to the future, Hannah and Nathan are still fighting to save their marriage.”
The Split concludes on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
