Rio Ferdinand wins BAFTA for Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum and Dad
Tonight’s BAFTA TV Awards took place on London’s Southbank and a number of television shows took home coveted golden gong.
Britain’s Got Talent scooped the trophy for Best Entertainment Programme and host Declan Donnelly took to the stage to accept the award without his co-host Ant McPartlin.
Meanwhile, Love Island took home the trophy for Best Reality Show while Casualty beat Coronation Street and Emmerdale to win Best Soap or Continuing Drama.
Sir David Attenborough’s series Blue Planet II was awarded the gong for Must See Moment.
The award, which was voted for by viewers, came after the show revealed a mother pilot whale refusing to let go of her dead calf.
Elsewhere, Three Girls won two prizes for Best Mini-Series and Best Actress, which was taken home by Molly Windsor.
The star told the audience: “Three Girls was born out of the courage of the real three girls, and the real Holly, Amber and Ruby who told their story over and over and over and told it again to us.
"I just want to say thank you for recognising how selfless that is and how brave that is."
Murdered For Being Different won Best Single Drama while This Country took home two trophies for Best Scripted Comedy and Best Female Performance in a Comedy Programme for Daisy May Cooper.
