Coronation Street news Pat Phelan exit details finally revealed by boss 'I'm very excited'
CORONATION STREET boss Kate Oates has discussed the upcoming storylines in the ITV soap, including the demise of Pat Phelan and the aftermath of David Platt's harrowing sexual assault.

The Coronation Street showrunner teased the end of Pat’s (played by Connor McIntyre) storyline later on this year, finishing the villain’s rein of terror.
“The Phelan story: I’m very excited about him getting his comeuppance, so that will be good,” Kate grinned.
Pat has certainly been busy during his time on the cobbles, successfully murdering three people without anyone finding out so far.
He kidnapped and trapped Andy Carver (Oliver Farnsworth) for over a year, before deciding that he knew too much, ultimately resulting in his death.

Amidst Andy’s kidnapping, Vinny Ashford (Ian Kelsey) was also dragged into a cell by Pat, which lead to Andy killing him.
Pat also chased down Luke Britton (Dean Fagan) after a heated argument, which ended in Luke being engulfed in flames.
He is currently after Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni), who outed his heinous deeds in the middle of court.
Kate also went on to discuss details about David’s upcoming trauma to Metro.co.uk: “The David story I think is going to be a challenging watch.

“It will dovetail in with another story which will also be a challenging watch.
“We’re being very considerate in the way we tell those stories, so I hope that will show.”
The harrowing story will begin this week on ITV, as David agrees to go for a drink with new pal Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton).
As the pair proceed to paint the town red, David will become more drunk and won’t notice Josh spiking his drink.

Viewers will see David waking up in Josh’s bed, traumatised by what has happened.
The storyline will focus on David coming to terms with his ordeal, and dealing with the grief that he feels.
ITV has been working closely with Survivors Manchester in order to treat the story with the proper care.
