Mitch, who is Karen Taylor’s (Lorraine Stanley) old flame, will also manage to turn on the charm with the launderette lady, as the pair can be seen about to share a tender kiss in another still from the soap.
Yet amid the drama, it’s Karen’s oldest son Keanu who is struggling to accept the new addition the most.
Speaking about joining the cast, Doctors actor Roger shared his nerves about heading into the new role.
“The Taylors are an established tight-knit family on the square,” he admitted. “So coming in as Mitch - the wild card, meant I had to hit the ground running.

"I had a brilliant time and the actors who make up the Taylor family made me feel at home instantly.
“It was love at first sight,” he added.
While Mitch’s arrival is set to rock the boat in a major way, it’s not the first time the actor has set foot on the Square.
Roger previously played Detective Inspector Christopher Riddick from 2004 to 2005, a recurring role that long-time viewers will likely remember.

He also appeared as the policeman when Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) was arrested for the murder of her corrupt husband and landlord "Dirty" Den Watts (Leslie Grantham).
Mitch will make his first appearance on-screen on March 12, when he turns up at The Arches in need of assistance after his van breaks down.
