Top Gear review: Chemistry is still not right for BBC show
TOP GEAR(BBC Two, Sunday) is still not right. Yes, yes, we’ve all moved on from the great Grand Tour breakaway but, even judged on its own terms, it doesn’t work.
Top Gear: Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, Rory Reid
The studio stuff is hugely awkward – the Rob Brydon interview was more uncomfortable than seeing Clarkson squeeze into a Smart car – and now the films are too long.
Then there’s Chris Harris.
He’s cast as the grumpy one, colleague Rory Reid is the Duracell bunny while Matt LeBlanc leads them all astray.
But Harris is just too serious. Lighten up.
