Corrie: Paramedics come to Carla's aid in the pub
After spending the night with Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard), Carla (Alison King) experienced an awkward encounter with her new boyfriend’s father, Ken Barlow (William Roache).
After returning home to get changed, she set out again to have lunch with her new flame.
Elsewhere in the cafe, however, Aidan (Shayne Ward) and Kate Connor (Faye Brooks) worried about Carla, and what she was putting herself through.
“Why does she do it?” Kate asked. “She’s going to make herself worse.”
“Maybe she’ll listen to Dad,” she added.

“No!” Aidan cut in. “It’s up to her to tell him.”
“He deserves to know,” Kate protested.
“Yeah like I deserved to know he had MS,” Aidan retorted. “We respected his wishes, now we’ve got to respect hers."
When Kate and Aidan met later on, they revealed that they are both matches for Carla’s kidney, allowing either of them to donate.
When the pair returned to the pub later on, Aidan decided to go through with the donation, with Kate calling him “everybody’s hero”.

The street’s newest couple decided to grab another drink before they leave the pub, so Carla went to the bar to order.

“I’ve only had one,” she protested.
“Yeah, here maybe. I just saw you stumbling,” Peter replied.

Daniel ran to Carla’s side to diffuse the situation, saying: “Come on, let’s just go.”

Carla’s dad, Johnny (Richard Hawley) looked on in horror.
Johnny couldn't believe that Carla had kept her heath woes from him.
In the hospital, after a disagreement with his father about whose kidney will be used, Aidan came clean to Carla about his intentions to donate his kidney.
"It's good news, both me and Kate are matches - provided all the next tests are okay, you'll be getting a little present from me," Aidan explained.
Coronation Street continues on Friday at 7.30pm on ITV.
