Celebrity Antiques Road Trip: You won’t believe how much this STOP traffic sign sold for
CELEBRITY ANTIQUES ROAD TRIP pulled a shocker this evening after one “antique” went for an outrageous and unexpected amount.
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip: Traffic sign sells for surprising sum
Olympic runners Linford Christie and Katharine Merry had teamed up with Road Trip regulars Christina Trevanion and David Harper in a race to make the most money from antiques.
On their trip through Oxfordshire, Linford pinned his hopes on a tiny brooch, despite it costing a three figure sum.
Katharine took a risk with a modern road traffic sign in a bid to take the top spot on the podium at auction in Buckinghamshire.
Costing just £12, viewers were left stunned at the amount of profit it made.

What? I don’t believe it! No!
Voicing the show, Tim Wonnacott warned: “Right girls. Brace yourselves. Here comes your traffic sign… and go!”
Hearing the opening bid, David gasped: “Go home!”
Christina giggled: “It might be time for us to go home.”
As the auctioneer shouted “£50 I’m bid,” David screamed: “Oh my gosh!” as Tim screeched: “What? I don’t believe it! No!”

David looked at the camera and questioned: “Sorry, is the world coming to an end?” as Linford said: “I’m leaving!”
Expert David then teased: “I’m going to take up athletics,” before the auction hammer came down at £120.
Katharine jibed: “Just in case you didn’t hear… £120 everybody!”
Antiques Road Trip continues on Tuesday January 2 on BBC One at 4.30pm.
