Sue and Derek welcomed Mark to Macclesfield for a tour of former silk factory The Paradise Mill.
Climbing into the 1930s lift to head up to the higher floors, the BBC expert was soon left in a panic as he became trapped inside while filming.
Having been assured that the lift never broke down, it ground to a sudden halt with the trio inside desperately phoning for rescue.
Worried, Mark enquired: "How old is the lift?" as tour guide Derek said: "1930s."

Antiques Road Trip: Derek had assured Mark Stacey that the lift would not break down
I can't believe it! We're stuck in a lift!
Mark then asked: "And you have to operate it by hand?" as Derek smiled: "You do, all the time."
Fearing the worst, Mark gasped: "Don't tell me it breaks down!" as his tour guide assured: "Never!"
However, the lift did just that and halted, prompting cries from the trio and Tim Wonnacott to voice: "Crumbs. This is a bit of a pickle!"
Believing it was all just a stunt, Mark said: "Derek, please tell me you're joking?" as he replied: "I'm afraid it's the first time it’s ever happened."

Horrified, Derek pressed the alarm, as Mark said: "I can't believe it! We're stuck in a lift! Was that an alarm or an air raid warning?"
Tim teased: "Gosh, stuck in a lift with Mark Stacey. While they await rescue, let's zip back to Buxton. Don't worry dear viewers, they eventually managed to escape."
Viewers later saw Mark exit the lift, gushing: "I'm a hero really."
