BBC weather: Matt Taylor reveals REAL reason for Carol Kirkwood's absence
THE BBC weather report was presented by Matt Taylor today who replaced an absent Carol Kirkwood yesterday.

The meteorologist took to Twitter before his first forecast of the day to explain why the usual BBC Breakfast weather presenter wasn’t in.
Matt joked he was forced to step in as Carol Kirkwood, 55, was busy “detangling” her Christmas decorations at home.
He wrote: “Good morning lovely people! @carolkirkwood is off detangling her Xmas lights (it may take her til next Wednesday) so I’m looking after @BBCBreakfast weather. Today I’m @ROGreenwich."
Delivering the forecast, Matt told viewers there will still be some ice around but the temperature has increased today.

He said: “Not quite cold as it has been across the UK. I’m not going to call it warm, it’s still pretty chilly out there.”
Matt said it will be a cloudy and gloomy start to the day in eastern England with some rain around and further west, it is also a grey morning.
Western parts of Scotland will be hit by showers and it is quite breezy across the UK.
Northern Ireland, northern England and parts of Wales will also see a lot of wet weather to start the day.

Through the morning, the showers will drift from west to east with temperatures reaching 11 degrees in the south west of England.
This evening, there will be heavy showers to begin with and snow will fall in the north of the UK.
There is a risk of ice again tomorrow especially where the ground is wet, but it will be a brighter day for those in the east of England.
