BBC Breakfast: Viewers accuse Dan Walker of 'dumbing down' news report 'Give it a rest'
BBC BREAKFAST viewers have accused host Dan Walker of “dumbing down” the news this morning.
BBC's Dan Walker argues that man flu is real
The presenter left those at home fuming after he reported that man flu is real and women should accept it.
Dan, 40, said: “Now, I really feel this is important news because for centuries woman have been saying that man flu doesn’t exist.
“That men should just get on and not talk about the fact their flu symptoms are slightly worse.”
However, Louise Minchin, 49, quickly disagreed with the statement: “I hate to say this, but just man up!”

“But I’m just saying there is medical evidence OK,” he said, before adding: “Men are more susceptible to complications and have a higher mortality rate.”
Meanwhile, fans of the show were left raging about the topic of news, with one tweeting: “@BBCBreakfast PLEASE can we have some news. Dan Walker stop dumbing it down. It’s not like there’s no news to report.”
“@BBCBreakfast does Dan realise just how boring and trite he sounds groaning on with this man flu?” wrote another.
A third posted: “@BBCBreakfast Dan - that man flu thing is boring - give it a rest,” while a fourth fumed: “@BBCBreakfast for God’s sake get Dan to put a sock in it!”

Elsewhere, viewers slammed the presenter over the decoration of the BBC Christmas tree, with one posting: “Dan Walker… good at eggs. Terrible at trees.”
“First an obsession with eggs, now picking on poor old innocent Christmas trees! Is anything safe within the gaze of Dan Walker?,” added another.
Earlier, Dan admitted he was worried about the decorations, captioning a picture of the tree: “A little concerned about our @BBCBreakfast tree. No star and it seems to come to an abrupt and unnatural end. Looks about six inches too short.”
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One at 6am.
