EastEnders spoilers: Max Branning sparks exit fears as twist leaves fans shaken
MAX BRANNING finally got his comeuppance in EastEnders tonight but even his biggest enemies couldn’t have predicted what happened next.
EastEnders: Max Branning leaves Carmel Kazemi's house
The latest instalment of the BBC soap saw Max (played by Jake Wood) finally rumbled by the residents of Walford as James Wilmott-Brown (William Boyde) and his son Luke (Adam Astill) turned the tables on him right in front of the entire Queen Vic.
As James urged Max to propose to Fi Browning (Lisa Faulkner), he was in for a nasty surprise.
“You’ve been useful, very useful,” James smirked, before tearing up Max’s £350,000 pay cheque.
He continued: “We don’t like ultimatums Maxwell, and this makes us wonder if you’re really team player.”

Why am I feeling sorry for Max
After Albert Square unanimously turned on Max, the final straw came as Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) punched him for cheating on Carmel (Bonnie Langsford).
Following the news that daughters Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) will both be leaving EastEnders over the coming weeks, if tonight’s episode is anything to go by, Max could be joining them.
After sealing his title as public enemy number one, Max turned to self-harming by burning a cigar into his arm, until Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) came to the rescue.

Max self-harmed in EastEnders again tonight
Fans took a surprising U-turn over the villain tonight, with one posting: “Why am I feeling sorry for Max and will he start self harming again.
“Why is it that no matter what Max does, I still end up feeling a bit sorry for him? Great acting from @mrjakedwood again. #EastEnders,” cried one more, which was followed by: “Aw poor Max why do I feel sorry for him?”
