But the 59-year-old has revealed that her mum does not always watch her perform alongside her professional partner Giovanni Pernice.
Speaking on It Takes Two tonight, host Zoe Ball asked what Babs thought of her Argentine Tango, which saw her awarded an impressive 38 points and if she was bothered by the "raunchy" routine.
"Well, she didn't mention the raunchiness at all," Debbie explained. "If anyone kisses on television she goes and makes a cup of tea.
"But she was incredibly proud and she is really shy and she's just so lovely."

She added that when her mum meets Giovanni, he showers her with "lots of hugs and kisses".
Zoe then went on to address why Babs isn't always in the audience cheering her on, as she enquired: "She Jives doesn't she?"
"Yes she Jives with her brother on a Saturday night so she doesn't come to Strictly every week because it means she misses her dancing," Debbie confessed.
"She used to Jive with my dad all of the time. At weddings and parties, she is the first one on the dancefloor and the last one off."
