The judge was chatting to hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield when she made the comment, leaving many watching at home furious.
When asked how she felt when she realised she had leaked the winner of the Channel 4 competition, the 77-year-old explained: "I quickly tweeted what I did and as soon as it went I thought, 'Oh my god,' and went into panic mode.
"Then I couldn't work my phone and eventually I rang my PA and she said, 'I've already deleted it.' And that was 89 seconds after I had done it."

Phillip then asked how she felt in the aftermath, and Prue simply replied: “Suicidal. I mean awful. The thing that upset me most was I thought this will take the attention off the winner and Sophie has worked for months and months for this moment."
"The winner for Bake Off has been kept secret for eight years until I came along and screwed it up," Prue concluded.
Following her remark about her reaction to the accidental tweet, This Morning viewers rushed to Twitter to slam her "unwise" choice of words.
